Stinnett & Associates was founded in September 2001 as a way for accountant Melinda Stinnett to have more flexibility with her family.
At the time, her twin boys were 4 years old and her daughter was 1. She had several initial projects assisting clients with evaluating different business processes and providing recommendations on ways to enhance controls and efficiencies.
Those founding clients provided referrals to others in the business community, which facilitated enough growth to hire permanent team members beginning in January 2004 and business partners in 2006.
Today, Stinnett’s firm specializes in internal audits, government-required financial reporting, information technology, risk management and other services.
